SALEM, NH - There's always plenty of family fun to choose from at Canobie Lake Park, and that includes live entertainment. This year, a new line-up of live shows begins on June 21st and runs through Labor Day.
"Can we build it? Yes we can!?" That's the rallying call of Bob the Builder and his Canobie Crew who are appearing on Canobie's Midway Stage. Based on the award-winning and popular PBS TV series, Bob the Builder LIVE! at Canobie Lake Park is an educational and fun show that young children and their families can enjoy together. As they hammer out the solutions that lead to a job well done, Bob and his crew demonstrate the power of positive thinking, problem solving, teamwork and follow-through. Most importantly, from start to finish, the team always shows that "The Fun Is In Getting It Done!"
If you hear barking coming from Canobie's Dancehall Theater, your ears aren't playing tricks. It's the sound of JUMP! The Ultimate Dog Show with performances daily, except Tuesdays. Maybe you've seen these talented canines during halftime at an NBA game, on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno, the Late Show with David Letterman, or on the Animal Planet TV network. JUMP! is non-stop, action-packed and features amazing dogs and their handlers performing to upbeat music from different eras. With plenty of interactive crowd participation, the audience will root for their respective teams in exciting nose-to-nose competition. Fun for all ages, JUMP! emphasizes the importance of pet adoption since most of the performing dogs have been rescued from various shelters throughout the Country.
Music is always a major part of Canobie Lake Park's entertainment line-up. This summer, Canobie's own original boy band sensation, Lyrix, brings their high-energy music styling, singing grooves and dance moves to the Midway Stage. The powerful choreography and charging pop beat are sure to keep the audience on their feet with live performances daily. The Soul Man duet will also be back by popular demand on Canobie's Village Stage. In a dazzling tribute to the "Blues Brothers", the soul men will perform the classics of the sixties that will have everyone dancing in the Park. Now in its fourth year, Canobie Talent Search will be held every Thursday night. Anyone can sign up to present his or her singing talent. A prize is awarded to each weekly winner who will compete to be named the CANOBIE CROWD CHOICE at the season finale. The ultimate winner will also receive a limo ride to WXRV-The River radio station and studio time to record his or her very own demo CD.
There will also be plenty of other entertainment throughout the Park, including the weekly Friday Night Video Dance Parties, Luau Parties at Castaway Island and the Xtreme Frisbee Techno Show. There will also be spectacular fireworks displays electronically choreographed to music over beautiful Canobie Lake beginning Fourth of July weekend (July 3, 4&5) and every Saturday night through the end of August. There is one low admission price to Canobie Lake Park that includes all rides and live shows all day with reduced evening rates, and parking is free.
